Hip Dysplasia
Hip Dysplasia is a malformation of the joint causing the ball to be misshapen and the socket to be shallow. Because the ball and socket don't contact correctly also means that the joint becomes unstable, deformed and will eventually cause pain.

Often hip dysplasia can be aggravated by Environmental factors such as bedding type and the type of flooring around the home. Certain breeds, larger breeds more commonly, have a genetic predisposition to hip dysplasia such as German Shepherds, Great Danes and Rottweilers. Hip Displays can also occur at any age due to injury such as a fall or collision with another dog.
